Does this helmet make me look fat?

I finally bought myself a decent bike helmet yesterday.  I don't usually buy things unless they're on sale, or I have a coupon, or a gift card.  Yesterday I got an email from Dick's Sporting Goods (I can't just write Dicks. Well, I just did) with a $15 off coupon, and since I already had a $25 gift card to use there, I took it as a sign. So Eliza and I headed off to the mall with all the last minute Valentines Day shoppers.

I can't seem to take a photo without looking like a dork.  It doesn't have any bells and whistles, but it's comfy, and I think it's pretty.

I also bought a swim cap, because I'm hoping to start swimming this week.  After I showed Mike the Former Swim Team Captain my purchases, he told me how he and his teammates would bring a cap into the pool, four of them would each take a corner of it, then stretch it far enough so that a fifth person could get into the cap and sit there.  Swimmer party tricks I guess.

Since we're talking about things that go on your head, I recently discovered the beauty of rollers.

I don't know what I've been waiting for all these years, I love these things.

I may never have a bad hair day again.

Well, the helmet doesn't look nearly as cute as that hat you won. :-P I like it though. And it reminds me of how I need to get a new helmet too.

I hope you kept the receipt for that helmet. It looks like it has a hole in it. Maybe even more than one.

Nice helmet! I always feel like I look like I have a brain on top of my head with mine on!
Please do a roller tutorial. I have a million of those velcro rollers, and have never been able to make them work!

I think it's a great picture - now just get one with your swim cap on! :)

Welcome to the club, WE ALL LOOK DORKY in our helmets, but I rather look like a dork then dead because I crashed and didnt have my helmet on.

I have the same problem with that store...I just can't say it without giggling like I'm 7!

My daughter wears her swim cap like it's a winter hat! I tell her to go get a hat because we're going out and she comes back into the room sporting her swim cap!

Climbing into a swim cap? Hmmm, sounds interesting.
What bells & whistles do you actually need on a helmet?

Love that picture! You are so cute ;)

I'm intrigued by your love of rollers. I've always been curious but also scared by them after having one stuck in my hair as a child.

Congrats on the helmet!

"I can't just write Dicks. Well, I just did" My husband and son both giggle everytime I say I am going to Dicks!

Helmets never look good on anyone!

You must post a pic post-rollers, I have always wanted to use them but have no earthly idea how. My hair is straight as a stupid board!

I was looking for a bike one day at work (shhhs, don't tell :)) and typed in "Dicks" in the google search. Um, I think I am now forever on the school radar. I may have to go into the witness protection program.

You think you look like a dork now wait until you buy the Aero helmet. My wife calls it a sperm helmet.

Hmmm, rollers eh? Are they a lot of work? I wouldn't mind having nice hair with very little effort.

Do those rollers really work? Do you use them at night, sleep on them and then take them out in the morning? I always wondered how my mom did that! Glad you got a helmet!

I have to agree with Jeff on the Areo helmet. I'm actually quite shy to wear mine. I think I'd rather wear your pink rollers! :p

You look like a real biker! I grew up on swim teams and never knew about the stretching the cap thing your husband explained. Sounds funny, I may ned to find 4 friends to help me try that out!

Are you signed up for a Tri? I'm doing my first one on April 17th, then an Oly on June 26th in Philly.

I don't think the photo makes you look like a dork - makes you look like you're in an add (one of those athletic type ads where the person just looks like they are so stinkin' happy to be working out on the equipment or whatever). Nice helmet!

You actually look great in that photo. Gorgeous skin! And I think you should do a roller tutorial....

Nice! I love when things work out like that!

The helmet's not so bad, as far as helmets go. I've been wearing a swim cap, I only put in on when i get to the pool so I don't see myself in it - can't imagine it'll be good. Please do tell what you do with the curlers - a before and after pic would be appreciated :-)

You do not look like a dork! I think you look cute in your helmet!

I always wanted to be able to use rollers, but my hair is rebellious!

I really like your new helmet! I am going to need to get one, too. I'm thinking my main requirement will be that I want it to have a 'brim' in front so it shades my face from the sun. Not sure if this even exists.

Gettin' all geared up and ready to go!!
